Brandt Andersen will executive produce with a $27 million budget for Emmett/Furla Films while George Furla and Randall Emmett will produce for the company. Jane Fleming and Mark Ordesky will produce for Amber Entertainment. Curtis "50 cent" Jackson has come onboard to play a substantial role as a 1980s-era pimp, and will also executive produce the film with Envision.

The upcoming Universal Pictures Vin Diesel science fiction thriller film "The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking" is set to begin filming in Montreal, Canada in mid-October, 2011. The films casting directors in Los Angeles and Canada are auditioning principal actors for supporting and day player roles, while the extras casting director in Monteal, Canada will be casting extras throughout filming. Additional shooting locations scouted include Regina, Saskatchewan in Canada.

The story has Riddick left for dead on a desolate planet fighting for survival against alien predators. Bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy soon descend, only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge.

David Twohy will direct "The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking" from a screenplay that he wrote himself. Twohy also wrote and directed the films "Pitch Black" and "The Chronicles of Riddick". He also wrote the script and scenario for the "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" video game. Universal Pictures has agreed to let Twohy direct "Riddick" as an R-rated film.

Samantha Vincent and Vin Diesel will produce "The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking" under the banner of Diesel's company One Race Productions, which was established in 1995. The companies production credits include "A Man Apart," "The Chronicles of Riddick," "Find Me Guilty," "Fast & Furious", and "Fast Five" among others. AB Media Publishing, LLC

The major feature film "Gangster Squad" has begun production in Los Angeles and the casting directors are casting day players, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins. The Warner Bros. Pictures film has an all star cast that includes Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone, and Nick Nolte. "Gangster Squad" chronicles of the LAPD's fight to keep East Coast Mafia types out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 1950s.

Ruben Fleischer will direct the period crime film from an adapted screenplay written by former LAPD officer Will Beall. The script is based on actual events, chronicled in a series of articles featured in the LA Times in 2008. Fleischer is best known as the director of the critically acclaimed and financially successful "Zombieland," his first feature film. He followed it by making "30 Minutes or Less". Prior to directing feature films, Fleischer was a prolific director of television commercials and music videos, working for such brands as the Cisco, Eurostar, ESPN, and Burger King.

John Papsidera cast the film with his colleague Jennifer Cram at Automatic Sweat. Papsidera has won two Primetime Emmys Awards and was nominated for another two Primetime Emmys. He has also been nominated for twelve Casting Society of America Artios Awards, of which he has won four times. Some of Automatic Sweat's past and current credits include "Enchanted," "The Dark Knight," "Inception," "The Dark Knight Rises," and "Oz: The Great and Powerful".

Michael Tadross will oversee production for Warner Bros. Pictures, Dan Lin and Jon Silk are producing for Lin Pictures, and Kevin McCormick will produce for Langley Park Productions. Shooting will take place at The Lot Studios in Los Angeles and various outdoor locations around Southern California. The Lot Studios is the re-branded renovated version of Warner Hollywood Studios and can trace its history back to 1920.

Story:

About the Los Angeles Police Department's off-the-books squad of mercenary cops who tried to chase infamous gangster Micky Cohen (Sean Penn) out of town in the 1940s. Cohen, started out as hired muscle for Al Capone in Chicago, but blossomed as a mogul after being sent to Los Angeles by Murder, Inc. kingpin Meyer Lansky to surveille Bugsy Siegel, who Cohen helped set up the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas and ran it's sports betting operation. He also ran a panoply of L.A. businesses, presumably as fronts to launder money — including floral shops, paint stores, nightclubs, casinos, gas stations, a haberdashery, and an ice cream parlor — before getting busted for tax evasion in 1950 and serving four years in federal prison.

Auditions and casting calls for 'The Great Gatsby' starring Leonardo DiCaprio

The Great Gatsby Casting Calls Auditions

"The Great Gatsby" will film for seventeen weeks in Australia.
AB Media Publishing

The feature film "The Great Gatsby" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire will be filming for 17 weeks beginning mid-late September 2011 near Sydney and Moore Park, New South Wales, Australia. The casting directors are casting supporting roles, day players, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins to work various dates during production. Over 400 cast and crew are being employed during principal photography.

Also starring in the film is the beautiful and talented Academy Award nominated British actress Carey Mulligan, who has starred in such hit films as "Pride & Prejudice," "Public Enemies," "Brothers," "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," "Drive," and the recently completed "Shame". Mulligan is considered one of the most highly sought after actors today.

Academy Award nominee Baz Luhrmann is directing "The Great Gatsby" from a screenplay that he wrote with Craig Pearce. Luhrman is also producing with his Luhrmann/Bazmark Films partners Catherine Martin (who is also his wife) and Catherine Knapman, and Red Wagon partners Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher. Luhrmann has decided that he wants to shoot "The Great Gatsby" in 3D, and it has become one of the hottest upcoming films in Hollywood.

The film was originally slated to shoot in New York where writer F. Scott Fitzgerald's highly praised 1925 novel of the same name takes place. Director Bazz Luhrmann even moved with his family from Australia to Chelsea, New York in in September 2010. However he made the decision to film "The Great Gatsby" in New South Wales, and transform the Moore Park sound stages into an enclave of the super rich, Long Island in the summer of 1922. Scenes shot in Sydney will recreate New York's Plaza Hotel and Long Island's magnificent mansions. The movie will earn the New South Wales economy over $120 million.

In 2010, it was reported that the film would be set up by Sony Pictures Entertainment, but in early 2011 Warner Bros. Pictures closed a deal to finance and take over worldwide distribution of "The Great Gatsby".
