Homefront New Orleans Casting Call

"Homefront" will film in the New Orleans area through November 21, 2012
AB Media Publishing, LLC

The Millennium Films action thriller feature film "Homefront" is in production in Louisiana, and casting for day player speaking roles and extras will be ongoing through November 21, 2012. The movie, written and produced by Sylvester Stallone, is based on author Chuck Logan's crime drama series of novels featuring the character Phil Broker. Filming is taking place in New Orleans, the Westbank suburban area of New Orleans, Thibodaux, among other locations in Louisiana. All types and ages of people are needed to work as background performers, both union and non-union.

"Homefront" centers on ex-DEA agent Phil Broker, who moves to a sleepy rural community with his little daughter Kit, who is still grieving from the recent death of her mother. His quiet new life doesn't last long when a meth dealer named Gator and his female sidekick Sheryl discover the presence of Broker in their town. Turns out that a murderous drug czar who is in prison, Danny T, blames Broker for the death of his son in a drug raid and is determined to have him tracked down and killed. When Gator and Sheryl rat Broker out to Danny T, Broker and Kit's "peaceful" new life takes a nightmarish turn.

The stellar cast includes Jason Statham in the lead role of Phil Broker; Academy Award nominee James Franco as meth dealer Gator; two-time Academy Award nominee Winona Ryder as Gators' partner Sheryl; Kate Bosworth plays Gators' drug addicted sister Cassie Bodine; Twilight's Rachelle Lefevre portrays school psychiatrist Susan Hatch; Izabela Vidovic plays Phil Broker's daughter; Omar Miller is cast as Teedo, a man who helps Broker and his daughter; and Vincent D'Onofrio plays drug czar Danny T.

Mojo Films President Gary Fleder is directing "Homefront" from an adapted screenplay written by two-time Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone. Fleder is a highly respected master filmmaker, television producer and director. His feature film debut was "Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead" starring Andy Garcia, Christopher Walken, Treat Williams, and Steve Buscemi. Since then, he has directed such films as "Kiss the Girls," starring Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman; "Don’t Say a Word," featuring Brittany Murphy and starring Michael Douglas; and "Impostor," starring Gary Sinise, Madeleine Stowe, and Vincent D’Onofrio. Fleders television career has spanned over 20 years and he has directed nine pilots that have been picked up to series.

Producing "Homefront" is Sylvester Stallone and Kevin King-Templeton, who’s worked alongside Stallone for years. René Besson of Signature Pictures is also producing. Besson produced the recently wrapped comedy "Straight A's" starring Anna Paquin, Ryan Phillippe, and Luke Wilson. Avi Lerner and Trevor Short are executive producing for NU Image/Millennium Films. Lerner and Short founded Nu Image in 1992 and launched the subsidiary label Millennium Films in 1996.

Award winning American indie film screenwriter and director Kelly Reichardt is gearing up to start shooting the thriller film "Night Moves" on October 16, 2012 in Southern Oregon. Casting directors in New York and Los Angeles are auditioning actors for supporting roles, featured roles, and day players. Extras, photo-doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in Oregon during filming, in addition to some speaking roles. There are roles for children, teens, and adults. "Night Moves" will be released in theaters sometime in 2013.

"Night Moves" tells the story of three eco-terrorists who work at an organic farm and collaborate on a plot to blow up a hydroelectric dam. Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg is playing the role of Josh Stamos, the orchestrator of the plan. Golden Globe Award nominee Peter Sarsgaard has been cast as Harmon, the brains behind construction of the bomb from a quarter ton of ammonium nitrate fertilizer. Two-time Young Artist Awards winner and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Dakota Fanning will play the role of financially wealthy Dena Brauer, who finances the plan.

Kelly Reichardt is directing "Night Moves" from a screenplay that she wrote herself. This will be the fourth film in a row that she has made in Oregon. The previous three were a short film called "Old Joy," then the critically acclaimed films "Wendy and Lucy," and "Meek's Cutoff" - both which starred three-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams. All three were based on stories by Primetime Emmy Award nominee and Oregon Native Jonathan Raymond. In addition to filmmaking, Reichardt continues to teach at Bard College in New York.

Producing "Night Moves" is Kelly Reichardt's longtime collaborators Anish Savjani, who owns the Texas-based independent film production company Film Science, and Neil Kopp. Savjani and Kopp have produced all of Reichardt's films except for her first, "River of Grass". Academy Award nominee Todd Haynes will executive produce. Haynes is also a Primetime Emmy nominated director, and Kelly Reichardt began her film career on the crew of Haynes's 1991 feature film directorial debut, "Poison".

All of the extras will be hired in Ontario throughout production which is scheduled to continue through January 11, 2013.

He previously did rewrites on "Quantum" of Solace during filming, and his script "The Infiltrator" is set to star Leonardo DiCaprio. Dimension Films casting dancers and actors for 'Scary Movie 5' lead roles

Scary Movie 5 Dancer Actor Auditions

"Scary Movie 5" is scheduled to hit theaters January 11, 2013.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Weinstein Company and Dimension Films are now in pre-production on "Scary Movie 5" after a two year wait. The casting directors have sent out casting calls for several lead roles that require dance skills as well as the ability to play comedy in a grounded dramatic style. Other roles for non-dancers of various ages are also being cast. Extras will be hired in Atlanta, where shooting will take place beginning June 15, 2012.

The story in "Scary Movie 5" involves the dance world, with a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French director of a dance company named Pierre putting on a huge production. Jody, a Caucasian late-20's mother of two and her late-20's African American friend Kendra are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody's extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30's Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry, gets cut from the production and goes berserk.

Keenen Ivory Wayans directed the first two Scary Movie films, Primetime Emmy nominee David Zucker directed the next two films, and now Image Award nominated filmmaker Malcolm Lee is taking over directorial duties for "Scary Movie 5". David Zucker, who also wrote both Scary Movie 3 and 4, will be returning to co-write and produce with Lee. The script is a rewrite of the initial script from Stephen Leff, John Aboud and Michael Colton. Malcolm Lee has directed such films as "Soul Men" starring Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac, "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins" starring Martin Lawrence and James Earl Jones, and "Undercover Brother" starring Denise Richards and Chris Kattan.

The studio had been very interested in bringing back some of the series’ original cast members, however insiders have said that the film has been completely retooled and will hire a brand new cast. That would not be a surprise considering the casting directors are "seeking a comedic leading lady with the ability to play comedy in a grounded dramatic style". Anna Faris has always been the leading lady, however it has been confirmed that she will not be returning for "Scary Movie 5".
