Auditions for 'I, Frankenstein' in Los Angeles, New York, and Melbourne, Australia

"I, Frankenstein" will hit theaters February 22, 2013.

The Australian production company Hopscotch Features and Lakeshore Entertainment are set to commence principal photography on the gothic thriller feature film "I, Frankenstein" in the Melbourne, Australia area. Auditions for supporting roles and day players is underway in Los Angeles, New York, and Melbourne. All of the film's extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins will be cast in Victoria, Australia.

"I, Frankenstein" is based on the graphic novel created by Kevin Grevioux. The story follows the original monster of Victor Frankenstein who is the only force that stands between the human race and an uprising of supernatural creatures determined to overthrow the world. Grevioux was also co-creator of the "Underworld" film franchise in which he played the role of "Raze".

Australian filmmaker Stuart Beattie is directing "I, Frankenstein". He also penned the screenplay that was originally written by Kevin Grevioux. Beattie made his directorial debut with the film "Tomorrow, When the War Began", which broke box office records in Australia. His writing credits include "Collateral," "Derailed," "30 Days of Night," "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," and all of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films.

Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg and Richard Wright are producing "I, Frankenstein" for Lakeshore Entertainment. Andrew Mason and Troy Lum are producing for Hopscotch Films, and Kevin Grevioux will executive produce. Lionsgate will distribute in the U.S. and E1/Hopscotch will distribute in Australia.

The "I, Frankenstein" production will employ around 500 local cast and crew members in Victoria. Child Talent and Foreign Talent must be legally eligible to work in Australia. Story:

A story that brings together classic monster characters, including Frankenstein's Monster, the Invisible Man, Dracula and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, in a contemporary film noir setting. The Monster, for example, has evolved, learned how to control his anger and now acts as a private investigator. Dracula, meanwhile, is a kingpin of crime, and the Invisible Man is a secret operative.

Actor and extras casting for supernatural thriller film 'Flight 7500'

Shooting on the supernatural thriller "Flight 7500" will take place in Los Angeles.

CBS Films in association with Vertigo Entertainment and Ozla Pictures are set begin principal photography on the supernatural thriller film "Flight 7500". The casting directors are auditioning actors for supporting and day player roles, and the extras are being cast throughout filming. There will be many featured background actor roles for airport personnel and passengers, as well as passengers on the plane that the film takes place in. Shooting will take place in Los Angeles beginning October 31, 2011.

Japanese filmmaker Takashi Shimizu will direct "Flight 7500" from a script written based on his own idea. Shimizu is best known for the Ju-on series of horror films, from which he filmed three english speaking versions that were released as "The Grudge," "The Grudge 2," and "The Grudge 3". "The Grudge 4" is in the works for filming in 2012. The film will be a reboot of the series, rather than a direct sequel and is expected to introduce a new storyline. Worldwide box office revenues for the first three "Grudge" films have exceeded $257 million USD.

"The Grudge" producers, Taka Ichise and Roy Lee, are reuniting with director Takashi Shimizu for "Flight 7500". Ichise is a veteran film producer and founder of the Los Angeles-based independent production company OZLA Pictures, Inc. OZLA has produced such films as "American Yakuza", starring Viggo Mortensen, which became a huge video success in the UK and Australia; "No Way Back", starring Russell Crowe; and "Crying Freeman", starring Mark Dacascos, which reached number one at the box office in both France and South Korea. Roy Lee is a Korean American producer who regularly takes well known Asian films and remakes them for American audiences. Examples include "The Ring," "The Grudge" and "The Departed". Lee co-owns his production company, Vertigo Entertainment. Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity 1, 2 & 3) will also produce.

"Flight 7500" stars the incredibly beautiful Amy Smart and handsome Ryan Kwanten as a honeymooning couple on a flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo, Japan. The film is a "claustrophobic" thriller set on a transpacific airliner where the passengers encounter what appears to be a supernatural force. Smart recently wrapped filming on the ABC Family telefilm "12 Dates of Christmas", and Kwanten is a series regular on HBO's "True Blood".

Blueprint Pictures has partnered with CBS Film to produce the comedy feature film "Seven Psychopaths". Shooting is set to begin November, 2011 in Los Angeles and the casting directors are auditioning actors for supporting and day player roles. The extras, stand-ins and photo-doubles for the film's stars will be hired in Los Angeles closer to the start of shooting.

"Seven Psychopaths" stars Golden Globe winner Colin Farrell as a screenwriter researching about psychopaths. Academy Award winner Christopher Walken and ten-time film festival award winner Sam Rockwell star as Colin's dognapping friends. Academy Award nominated Mickey Rourke plays a gangster who's beloved Shih Tzu goes missing.

Academy Award winner Martin McDonagh will direct "Seven Psychopaths" from a screenplay that he wrote himself. The film reunites McDonagh with Colin Farrell, as McDonagh directed Farrell in the Focus Features film "In Bruges" which received very positive critical reviews. That film earned McDonagh an Oscar nomination for Best Writing - Original Screenplay, and earned Colin Farrell a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical.

CBS Films successfully negotiated to co-finance "Seven Psychopaths" and will distribute the film in the United States. CBS Films is a film production company founded in 2007, a feature film division of CBS Corporation. Executive Vice President Scott Shooman will oversee production for CBS Films. Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin will produce for Blueprint Pictures, and Tessa Ross will executive produce for Film4. Meghan Ellison will produce for her company Annapurna Productions. Ellison is the daughter of Oracle founder Larry Ellison and sister of Paramount-based financier-producer David Ellison.

Auditions for Paramount Pictures feature film 'Flight' starring Denzel Washington

It looks like Paramount Pictures will have a strong contender in the 2012 Oscar race with the upcoming feature film "Flight" starring Denzel Washington. Shooting will begin on October 6, 2011 in Atlanta, GA. Casting for the lead and supporting roles are being done in Los Angeles, while smaller speaking roles, extras, stand-ins, and photo-doubles will all be cast in Atlanta.

Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis will direct from a screenplay written by John Gatins. Laurie MacDonald and Walter F. Parkes will produce for Parkes/MacDonald Productions. Academy Award winner Steve Starkey and Jack Rapke will produce for Imagemovers. Primetime Emmy winner Cherylanne Martin will executive produce and also serve as Unit Production Manager.

The main cast is quite impressive and includes Academy Award nominated Don Cheadle, Golden Globe winner John Goodman, Academy Award winner Melissa Leo, Academy Award winner Frances McDormand, Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones, and James Badge Bale whose career is on fire as he is set to appear in a number of upcoming movies including "Shame," "The Grey" and "World War Z". Story:

The fictional tale revolves around a commercial airline pilot named Whip Whitaker (Washington). When his plane malfunctions and a crash seems imminent, he saves the day with some heroic flying and manages to land the plane with minimal casualties. He's instantly hailed as a hero, but as an investigation into the cause of the crash unfolds, it becomes clear that he was flying under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The film is the pilot's journey as he is encouraged to wear a hero label he thinks he doesn't deserve, while the pilot's union and airline try to keep the facts under cover because of the high stakes involved.
