Christian Slater feature film "El Gringo" auditions and casting calls

Joel Silver will produce "El Gringo" along with After Dark Films.

Silver Pictures in association with After Dark Films are now in pre-production on the Mexico-set action feature film "El Gringo", which is to be filmed in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. The casting directors in Los Angeles are hiring the starring and co-starring roles, while the smaller supporting roles, day players, extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles for the film's stars are being cast in Louisiana.

Joel Silver, who can be credited as practically reinventing the action film genre in the 1980's, will produce "El Gringo", Silver has produced such mega hit films as the "Lethal Weapon" franchise, "Predator 1 and 2" the "Die Hard" franchise, all of "The Matrix" films, "The Book of Eli", "Unknown" and countless others. he also has an endless line up of films scheduled through the next several years.

"El Gringo" will be directed by acclaimed Venezuelan director Eduardo Rodriguez from a screenplay written by Jonathan W. Stokes. Stokes wrote and directed 2009's "The Last Hurrah," a comedy about college graduate students at a house party on their last night together and was filmed in one continuous 90 minute shot. Joel Silver, After Dark Films, and Eduardo Rodriguez all recently completed production on the Dolph Lundgren film "Stash House", which was also filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Another promising rising star, Scott Adkins, has been cast as the lead role in "El Gringo". Adkins recently wrapped filming "Universal Soldier: A New Dimension" co-starring with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. Ironically, that project was also filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Christian Slater will play a cop trying to track Adkins down in "El Gringo" while Yvette Yates has also joined the cast.

Mandeville Films feature film '21 and Over' Seattle auditions and extras casting

From the writers of "The Hangover" and "The Hangover Part II" comes Mandeville Film's "21 and Over". Jon Lucas and Scott Moore wrote the screenplay and are also directing this comedy which begins shooting in Seattle on August 21. 2011. The Seattle casting directors will be casting day players, extras, stand-ins and photo doubles throughout the shoot.

The CEO of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Produced, Jason Felts, will serve as executive producer on "21 and Over". Felts executive produced "Limitless" starring Bradley Cooper, and recently executive produced the upcoming film "Immortals" starring Henry Cavill, Freida Pinto, Kellan Lutz, and Mickey Rourke. Ryan Kavanaugh will produce for Relativity Media. Kavanaugh also produced "Limitless" and "Immortals". David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will produce "21 and Over" for Mandeville Films.

This hilarious comedy tells the story of two childhood buddies who drag their straight-arrow buddy out to celebrate his twenty-first birthday the night before an extremely important medical school interview. But after drinking way too many brews, the night spirals into a wild epic misadventure of debauchery and mayhem that none of them will ever forget.

Justin Chon (The Twilight Saga), Skylar Astin (Taking Woodstock), Sarah Wright (The House Bunny), and Miles Teller (Footloose) have signed on to star in "21 and Over". The film will be released in 2012.

Story:

Summit Entertainment 'Step Up 4' actors and dancers open casting call

"Step Up 4" is casting lead role actors, dancers, and dance teams.

Summit Entertainment is currently working on the 4th installment of the hugely successful dance franchise that started with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s "Step Up" in 2006. Music video director Scott Speer, who previously directed episodes of the web series "The LXD: The League of Extraordinary Dancers, has been hired to direct the film. Jenny Mayer has wrote the screenplay, and like "Step Up 3D," "Step Up 4," will also be shot in 3D.

Jon M. Chu, who directed both "Step Up 2" and "Step Up 3D" and is currently directing the sequel to Chan’s movie "G.I. Joe" will serve as executive producer on "Step Up 4," with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot producing. Harry Shum Jr. has been mentioned as the film's Choreographer.

"Step Up 4" is scheduled to hit theaters in 2012, and the filmmakers are currently looking for dancers and two new faces to play the male and female lead roles in the new film.

The feature film "Freaky Deaky", starring Sienna Miller, Matt Dillon, Brendon Fraser, William H. Macy, and Craig Robinson, is auditioning actors in Los Angeles for co-starring and supporting roles. Charles Matthau, son of the legendary actor Walter Matthau, is directing "Freaky Deaky" from an adapted screenplay the he wrote himself based on the novel of the same name by Elmore Leonard. The film is being financed by Eyde Studios. Michael L. Meltzer of The Matthau Company is executive producing and Leonard is co-executive producing with Donald Zuckerman, Michael Meltzer, Robert Cantrell, Steven M. He and Chris work the Booker case together, and both quietly agree to waste time chatting, ensuring that Booker blows his worthless ass all to hell. Later, after Mark Ricks goes boom inside his brother's car, Jerry shows up to investigate, and treats Chris with pleasant respect, even though he's a suspect in the bombing.

• Male, 20's. To play Booker, an African American superdude. In his 20s, Booker is a bad man, a known felon with an unproven murder accusation against him. A guy who owns a mansion with a jazuzzi in the library, Booker gets some bad news over the phone: the comfy chair on which he's sitting is rigged to blow his sorry self sky-high the second he gets up. But when the Bomb Squad arrives, they're clearly in no hurry to save his bloodstained life -- and Booker needs to pee. Story:

Former radical Robin (Sienna Miller) has had it trying to make it as a romance novelist and tracks down her old partner in crime, movie special effects man Skip Gibbs for one last score. Their target: wealthy and alcoholic Woody Ricks (William H. Macy), who Robin blames for sending her to prison. But Robin isn’t the only one after Woody. He’s recently made an enemy of Chris Mankowski (Matt Dillon), a cop who was suspended for investigating Woody on a shaky “rape” charge. Woody's nursemaid and former Black Panther Donnell Lewis (Craig Robinson), who's been trying to get into Woody's will, also wants in on the action.
