Writer/Director: Stephen Sommers

Starring:

Anton Yelchin - Odd Thomas
Lily Collins - Stormy Llewellyn

Story:

The story centers on a young man named Odd Thomas (Anton Yelchin) who is able to see and partially communicate with the dead. He can speak to the dead, but they can not speak themselves, however they can make signs or mouth words to try and communicate with Odd. Thomas works as a short order cook in a desert town, and has become the spirits' reluctant confidant. Odd Thomas thinks of himself as an ordinary guy, although he can flip around a spatula and skillet the way Tom Cruise did with "flair bartending" skills in "Cocktail". Endowed with a good deal of talent at the Pico Mundo Grill, Odd Thomas is passionately in love with the most beautiful girl in the world, Stormy Llewellyn (Lily Collins). Odd believes that he and Stormy will be together forever due to an encounter with a carnival fortune telling machine. Maybe he has a gift, maybe it’s a curse, Odd has never been sure, but he tries to do his best by the silent souls who seek him out. Sometimes they want justice, and Odd’s otherworldly tips to Pico Mundo’s sympathetic police chief, Wyatt Porter, can solve a crime. Occasionally they can prevent one. But this time it’s different. A mysterious man who Odd Thomas calls "Fungus Man" comes to town with a voracious appetite, a filing cabinet stuffed with information on the world’s worst killers, and a pack of hyena-like shades called "bodachs" following him wherever he goes. Who the man is and what he wants, not even Odd’s deceased informants can tell him. His most ominous clue is a page ripped from a day-by-day calendar for August 15. Today is August 14. In less than twenty-four hours, Pico Mundo will awaken to a day of catastrophe. As evil coils under the searing desert sun, Odd travels through the shifting prisms of his world, struggling to avert a looming cataclysm with the aid of his soul mate Lilly and an unlikely community of allies that includes the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll - Elvis Presley's spirit. His account of two shattering days when past and present, fate and destiny converge is the stuff of our worst nightmares. And it is a testament by which to live - sanely if not safely, with courage, humor, and a full heart that even in the darkness must persevere.

Principal actor auditions and open casting calls for 'Men in Black III' extras

The Columbia Pictures feature film "Men In Black III" is now back in production after a lengthy delay in shooting due to problems with the script. Columbia Pictures has announced an open casting call in New York City for people interested in working on the film as extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles. There are also several new principal actor roles being cast.

Etan Cohen wrote the original draft of the script, David Koepp did some major rewrites, and Jeff Nathanson wrote the finishing touches. But Sony and director Barry Sonnenfeld did not like parts of the script, specifically the time-travel scenes, so David Koepp was brought back in once again to do several weeks of additional rewrites. Koepp has now delivered a script that he wrote in close participation with director Barry Sonnenfeld.

The delays in filming have taken a heavy toll on the production including the loss of Academy Award nominated actor Alec Baldwin, who was set to play the boss of the 1969 MiB in the time traveling portions of the film. The "Men in Black 3D" budget has also soared past the 2 hundred million dollar mark.

Principal photography has resumed this week on March 28, 2011 and will continue through the end of June, 2011. The film is still scheduled to be released in theaters on May 25, 2012.
