Warner Bros. Pictures launches massive talent search for the next Man of Steel

Director Zack Snyder and the VP of Feature Casting at Warner Bros. Pictures, are now officially on the hunt to find a new Superman. They are seeking a male who can appear to be between the ages of 28 and 32. The focus is on talented performers who are either unknowns or rising stars who do not carry the huge price tag of well established star talents. Warner Bros. wants to discover someone it can develop into A-list star status with the iconic role as Clark Kent aka Superman. The talent search will be exhaustive with the studio expecting to audition “hundreds of young actors”

Deborah Snyder, who is married to the film's director Zack Snyder, will serve as co-producer. Together they own the production company Cruel & Unusual Films. They recently wrapped principal photography on the Warner Bros. feature film "Sucker Punch" starring Australian actresses Emily Browning and Abbie Cornish, as well as Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung.

Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas will serve as the film's executive producers under the banner of their production company Syncopy, Inc. Syncopy has executive produced such feature films as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises (upcoming), and the recent blockbuster hit Inception.

Charles Roven's Atlas Entertainment is also on board to co-produce. Roven has previously collaborated with Warner Bros. Pictures on several Batman films and numerous other productions.

Superman is scheduled to begin filming in June 2011, and will hit theaters in December 2012.

Open casting calls, either online or on location, will be posted here as they become available.

James Cameron's 'Avatar 2' auditions and casting information

Academy Awardwinning Producer/Writer/Director James Cameron has officially announced on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 that his next two films will be Avatar 2 and Avatar 3. It was also announced that Avatar 2 is scheduled to be released in December 2014, and Avatar 3 is scheduled for a 2015 release.

Fox Filmed Entertainment chairmen Jim Gianopulos, Tom Rothman and James Cameron made the announcement on the two picture deal. Cameron stated, "I am looking forward to returning to Pandora, a world where our imaginations can run wild. It is a rare and remarkable opportunity when a filmmaker gets to build a fantasy world, and watch it grow, with the resources and partnership of a global media company."

James Cameron will shoot the movies starting in late 2011. He will decide whether to film the two sequels back to back after he wraps up the final drafts of the scripts. He also is teaming up with Jon Landau, a partner at Lightstorm Entertainment, to produce the film. Lightstorm partner Rae Sanchini negotiated the deal with Fox Filmed Entertainment on Lightstorm’s behalf.

The principal actor casting will in all likelihood be a very long process that will begin well ahead of the start of principal photography. The cast is expected to be very large with A-list stars down to completely unknown newcomers.

Casting Director information subject to change, please check back for updates.

Auditions will start in 2011. DO NOT SUBMIT PHOTOS AND RESUMES OR CONTACT THE CASTING OFFICES UNTIL IT IS POSTED HERE THAT THEY ARE ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS AND THE CASTING PROCESS HAS BEGUN.
