JIMMY: Male 13-14. Caucasian. Jimmy is cute, but could be on the scrawny side – definitely not the school jock. Loveable, empathetic, smart and interesting. Must have a great sense of humor.

CHRIS: Male 13-14. Caucasian. Slightly, or more than slightly, overweight. Chris is confident, driven, optimistic and a natural leader. Must have a great sense of humor.

NINA: Female 13-14. Caucasian. A natural beauty – she is stunning, but not the “cheerleader” type. Strong and confident, but has an underlying sadness.

Paramount Studios is teaming up with "Lost" executive producer and writer J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions to bring a new project to the big screen. Casting directors Alyssa Weisberg and April Webster have launched a national talent search seeking 13 - 14 year old Boys and Girls for the lead roles in the film. No previous acting experience is necessary, but must have great energy and a wonderful sense of humor and thoughtfulness.

To be considered for the film, you must submit a self-made audition video via email in QuickTime format.

Here are the details on how to submit:

● Please learn the scenes for the appropriate role (Josh/Collin/Natalie)
● You do not need to memorize it but the more familiar you are, the better.
● Have someone read the other character’s lines off camera.
● In addition to the scenes, please tape a short interview so they can get a sense of your wonderful personality. Talk about hobbies, likes, a funny story, etc.
● Start off with a full body shot and then zoom into a medium close up (chest up) and keep the camera stationary.
● Please make sure they can see your face and hear you clearly (it’s best to have your main source of light behind the camera.)
● Please say your first and last name, height and where you are from before you begin the scene
● At the end please say your first and last name again clearly or print your full name on a sheet of paper and hold it up to the camera so they can read it clearly.
● If you are a minor, please state your age and height after you say your name.
● Please do not put a certified delivery if using “yousendit.com”.
● Please compress your movie to the smallest size possible.
● Please do not follow up with emails regarding receipt of the audition. Due to the volume of submissions received, they cannot individually answer everyone.

Universal Pictures casting down under for Michael De Luca feature film 'Dracula Year Zero'

Universal Pictures and Michael De Luca Productions are in the pre-production stages for the upcoming feature film Dracula Year Zero. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless penned the script, which centers on the origin of Dracula, mixing vampire mythology with the true history of Prince Vlad the Impaler. The story depicts Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war.

Sam Worthington has signed on to star as Prince Vlad and Alex Proyas will direct the film. Proyas is an Australian filmmaker who produced, directed, and co-wrote the box-office hit film "Knowing", which was filmed in Melbourne. Proyas is owner of Mystery Clock Cinema, which co-produced "Knowing" with Summit Entertainment.

Filming will begin in November 2010. No release date has been announced.

Oscar winning producer Greg Shapiro casting two girls to star in the feature film 'Detachment'

Oscar winning producer Greg Shapiro's Kingsgate Films is currently in pre-production on the feature film "Detachment", and Chrystie Street Casting is seeking two girls ages 14 and 16 to star in the film. Greg Shapiro has produced such films as The Hurt Locker, the Harold & Kumar films, and the upcoming Johnny Depp film The Rum Diary. The casting call has gone out in both New York and Los Angeles.

Here is what they are seeking:

This film revolves around mature subject matter.

A small, pretty, 14 Year old girl.
A slightly overweight 16 year old girl.

Erica: 14 years old, any ethnicity. A homeless prostitute who is pretty, small and pale, she is accustomed to being sexually and physically abused. When Henry takes pity on her and brings her home so she can get cleaned up and receive medical attention, she propositions him and is surprised by his refusals. While she lives at Henry’s they fall into a domestic routine, but the situation is temporary. Prone to philosophizing, Erica takes up journaling and confesses her all-encompassing love for Henry. She’s devastated and breaks down into hysterics when he sends her away.

Meredith: 16 years old, any ethnicity. A bit chunky but beautiful, she’s an extremely sensitive, intelligent, and unhappy high school student who finds solace in art and photography. For Meredith, Henry is a godsend teacher, and she is deeply upset when her affection for him is not returned. Troubled and sad, suicidal and possibly suffering from an eating disorder, Meredith poisons a huge batch of cupcakes and hands them out for free, saving the most lethal cake for herself in a school-wide tragedy.

Feature film '30 Minutes or Less' casting moves forward

Ben Stiller's production company Red Hour Films is nearing the start date for shooting on the action comedy flick '30 Minutes or Less'. Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer will helm the picture that has been written by Michael Diliberti and Matthew Sullivan. Actor Jesse Eisenberg, who also starred in Zombieland, has signed on to the lead role of Will, a hapless pizza delivery man that gets knocked up by criminals who strap a bomb to him, ordering him to rob a bank or die.

The film begins shooting in July, 2010 in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a release date set for August 12, 2011.

Story:

About two childhood best friends, Chet and Will, who have a deep falling out one night over drinks when Will confesses his love for Chet's sister Kate. Chet, a school teacher and the more successful of the two, gets upset and says things he regrets and Wayne, down and out and miserable because Kate is moving away — his secret lifelong crush all these years — also drops a litany of terrible history that should have remained unspoken. Their friendship would be irrevocably broken, if fate didn't intervene. Across town, two stupid, whitetrash would-be-hoods Dwayne and his sycophant friend Jay are plotting to have Dwayne's rich father killed so they can reap the inheritance. But they need to pay someone to do the deed, so they hatch a wild plan, based on Jay's backwoods skills; make a bomb, strap it to some unlucky soul and force him to rob a bank so they can pay their hitman. Will of course becomes that unfortunate sap and soon he's begging Chet to help him race against time. He's got eight hours to deliver the money before the bomb strapped to his chest goes off.
