Haley Bennett Justine Wills Kristy

Filming on "Kristy" begins November 15, 2012 in New Orleans.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Dimension Films and The Weinstein Company in association with David Kirschner Productions and Electric City Entertainment are in production on the new psychological thriller film "Kristy," and casting for lead and supporting roles is taking place in Los Angeles. Additional principal casting and all extras casting will take place in New Orleans throughout production. Shooting commences on November 15 and continues through December 21, 2012. "Kristy" is the working title of this film, and the release title may or may not be different.

"Kristy" centers on a pretty co-ed named Justine and a few of her friends who spend the weekend in their college dormitory while the rest of the campus is home for the Thanksgiving holiday: studying, relaxing and gleefully unaware of the terror that is about to unravel outside in the cold. Suddenly, confronted by a gang of violent outcasts who's leader keeps calling her Kristy, Justine’s quiet long weekend becomes one long lesson in survival as her and her classmates are terrorized in increasingly bizarre and brutal ways, leaving it up to her to figure out who her attackers are... and if they can be stopped.

Singer and actress Haley Bennett has been cast in the film's lead role of Justine Wills. The extremely beautiful and talented 24 year old rising star has been writing songs and poetry since the age of 14, and has several books accumulated with her words and thoughts. Her acting credits include "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" starring opposite Chace Crawford and AnnaLynne McCord; "Untitled Terrence Malick Project" co-starring alongside Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman; and "Music and Lyrics" co-starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. She also recently starred in the FX Network crime thriller/family drama television series pilot movie "Outlaw Country" starring opposite Mary Steenburgen and Luke Grimes.

New York University's Tisch School of the Arts alum Olly Blackburn is directing "Kristy" from an original screenplay written by two-time Writers Guild of America WGA Award nominee Scott Rosenberg and Gary Fielder. Anthony Jaswinski Anthony has written the most recent draft of the script. Blackburn directed commercials and music videos before directing films. He co-wrote and directed the extreme thriller "Donkey Punch," which was his first film to be shown at the Sundance Film Festival.

Primetime Emmy Award nominee David Kirschner will produce under the banner of David Kirschner Productions, while Lynette Howell and Jamie Patricof will produce for Electric City Entertainment. Corey Sienega will also produce. Matthew Stein, former Dimension Films executive vice president of production, will executive produce. Stein now has a non-exclusive production deal with Dimension.
