AB Media Publishing, LLC

Casting directors in Los Angeles and Atlanta are now auditioning actors for co-starring, supporting, and day player roles in the upcoming Universal Pictures comedy feature film "Identity Thief". There is also an open casting call scheduled in Atlanta for extras. Shooting on "Identity Thief" will take place in Atlanta from April 16, 2012 through June 25, 2012.

"Identity Thief" stars Golden Globe Award winner Jason Bateman and Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy, and tells the story of a hard-working family who man gets a major lesson in self-importance from the gal who has stolen his identity and pretty much ruined his life. Bateman's recently formed Aggregate Films is producing the film as part of a two-year first-look production deal with Universal Pictures and Universal Television. Bateman has hired Jim Garavente, formerly of Mandate Pictures, to run Aggregate Films. Also producing "Identity Thief" is Scott Stuber and Pamela Abdy of Stuber Productions.

Filmmaker Seth Gordon is directing "Identity Thief" from a brilliant screenplay written by Steve Conrad ("The Pursuit of Happyness") with rewrites by Craig Mazin ("Hangover Part II"). Gordon's directing credits include the films "Four Christmases" and "Horrible Bosses", as well as the TV series "The Office," "Modern Family," and "Breaking In". Gordon's future projects include directing New Regency's "Mr. Romance," Sony's "The Only Living Boy in New York," and Working Title's "Suicide Squad". He is also set to produce an adaptation of the best selling book, "Freakonomics".

Among the many principal acting roles being cast are everything from Jason Bateman's wife Trish and 7 year old Daughter Jessie, co-workers and boss, detectives and police officers, waiters and waitresses, fancy hotel staff, bartenders, a large man at bar, 45-50ish, with an over-the-top personality taking shots.

Jason Bateman - Sandy Patterson
Melissa McCarthy - Diana

Sandy Bigelow Patterson (Jason Bateman) is a married family man who works in the accounts processing department at Prominence Financial making a modest $50,000 a year. He sees himself as one of "have nots" in the world and longs to be one of the the "haves". Although he works hard for his wife and daughter and is good at what he does, he lives in fear of being dispensable - of being replaced by someone younger, or someone cheaper, or by an app. After a woman named Diana (Melissa McCarthy) steals his identity and his life falls into chaos, he embarks on a mission to find her in Florida and bring her back to the police to clear his name. Sandy and Diane's adventure becomes intense - and hilarious at times, as a crazed skiptracer hunts him down; two heavily armed Israelis are after him; and they are kidnapped by a group of pissed Eagle Scouts with a vicious dog. Along the way, Sandy begins to learn how to stop being a chump and re-evaluates his feelings towards Diana.
