Feature film '10 Things I hate About Life' auditions and casting calls

10 Things I hate About Life Auditions Casting Calls

Filming on "10 Things I hate About Life" begins December 3, 2012.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

The production company Mad Chance is gearing up to begin filming the upcoming romance comedy feature film "10 Things I hate About Life," and casting directors are auditioning actors for co-starring, supporting, and featured roles. Extras will be hired starting late November and will continue to be cast throughout December. Shooting will commence on December 3, 2012 in Los Angeles. The film wouldn’t have been able to shoot in the state without help from the California Film Commission, which invested in the roughly $10 million budget.

Although "10 Things I hate About Life" reunites the producing and directing team that brought you the 1999 film "10 Things I Hate About You," this is not a sequel. This new film is about two desperate young souls saddened by childhood trauma who meet while each is attempting to commit suicide. Love develops and the pair realize life is worth living. Ben is a musician whose band is on the verge of being signed by Sony, and Willow is a photographer. The couples new love is thrown off course by the sudden re-appearance of Nadine, Ben's materialistic ex-girlfriend, who begins pursuing Ben now that he has a record deal.

Two-time Golden Globe Award nominated singer and actress Evan Rachel Wood has landed the female lead role of Willow. Wood is an extremely beautiful and gifted performer who is one of the best actresses of her generation. She grew up in an entertainment industry family and has an impressive resume that includes such films as "King of California" starring opposite Michael Douglas and Kathleen Wilhoite; "The Wrestler" starring with Marisa Tomei and Mickey Rourke; and "The Ides of March," co-starring with Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Paul Giamatti. She recently wrapped filming "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman" starring with Shia LaBeouf; "Barefoot," co-starring with Scott Speedman; and "A Case of You" where she had the lead role, also starring Vince Vaughn, Peter Dinklage, Sam Rockwell, Sienna Miller, and Brendan Fraser.

Primetime Emmy Award nominee Gil Junger will direct "10 Things I hate About Life" from a screenplay that he wrote himself. Junger made his directorial film debut in 1999 with the film "10 Things I Hate About You," starring Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Julia Stiles. He also directed twelve episodes of the ABC Family show of the same name. During his 30-plus year career directing, he has worked on such hit shows as "Empty Nest," "According to Jim," "Hope & Faith," "Greek," and "Rules of Engagement".

Andrew Lazar will produce for Mad Chance. His producing credits include "Lucky Numbers," "Space Cowboys," "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind," and "I Love You Phillip Morris. Intandem Films CEO Gary Smith will also produce, while Senior VP of Production & Business Affairs for Intandem Films, Sepideh Haftgoli, will executive produce. Ben White will co-executive produce. Intandem is financing and selling the film, which will also be released in the UK by the company’s new distribution department.

Acting auditions and extras casting for Dimension Films 'Kristy'

Haley Bennett Justine Wills Kristy

Filming on "Kristy" begins November 15, 2012 in New Orleans.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Dimension Films and The Weinstein Company in association with David Kirschner Productions and Electric City Entertainment are in production on the new psychological thriller film "Kristy," and casting for lead and supporting roles is taking place in Los Angeles. Additional principal casting and all extras casting will take place in New Orleans throughout production. Shooting commences on November 15 and continues through December 21, 2012. "Kristy" is the working title of this film, and the release title may or may not be different.

"Kristy" centers on a pretty co-ed named Justine and a few of her friends who spend the weekend in their college dormitory while the rest of the campus is home for the Thanksgiving holiday: studying, relaxing and gleefully unaware of the terror that is about to unravel outside in the cold. Suddenly, confronted by a gang of violent outcasts who's leader keeps calling her Kristy, Justine’s quiet long weekend becomes one long lesson in survival as her and her classmates are terrorized in increasingly bizarre and brutal ways, leaving it up to her to figure out who her attackers are... and if they can be stopped.

Singer and actress Haley Bennett has been cast in the film's lead role of Justine Wills. The extremely beautiful and talented 24 year old rising star has been writing songs and poetry since the age of 14, and has several books accumulated with her words and thoughts. Her acting credits include "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" starring opposite Chace Crawford and AnnaLynne McCord; "Untitled Terrence Malick Project" co-starring alongside Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman; and "Music and Lyrics" co-starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. She also recently starred in the FX Network crime thriller/family drama television series pilot movie "Outlaw Country" starring opposite Mary Steenburgen and Luke Grimes.

New York University's Tisch School of the Arts alum Olly Blackburn is directing "Kristy" from an original screenplay written by two-time Writers Guild of America WGA Award nominee Scott Rosenberg and Gary Fielder. Anthony Jaswinski Anthony has written the most recent draft of the script. Blackburn directed commercials and music videos before directing films. He co-wrote and directed the extreme thriller "Donkey Punch," which was his first film to be shown at the Sundance Film Festival.

Primetime Emmy Award nominee David Kirschner will produce under the banner of David Kirschner Productions, while Lynette Howell and Jamie Patricof will produce for Electric City Entertainment. Corey Sienega will also produce. Matthew Stein, former Dimension Films executive vice president of production, will executive produce. Stein now has a non-exclusive production deal with Dimension.

Casting continues on Steven Spielberg sci-fi epic feature film 'Robopocalypse'

Auditions Casting Robopocalypse

Robopocalypse is basad on the NY Times best selling novel by Daniel H. Wilson.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Robopocalypse: A Novel

DreamWorks Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox are in pre-production on the feature film "Robopocalypse", based on the New York Times best selling science fiction novel of the same name by Daniel H. Wilson. Principal actor casting is taking place in Los Angeles, and additional casting will take place in Montreal, Canada where shooting will take place beginning in March, 2013. All of the film's extras, stand-ins, and photo-doubles will be hired in Canada.

Three-time Academy Award winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg will direct from an adapted screenplay written by Primetime Emmy Award nominee Drew Goddard. "Robopocalypse" explores the fate of the human race following a robot uprising. The robots of the novel were inspired by real-world robotics research, and author Daniel H. Wilson has a PhD in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. The film rights to the unpublished manuscript of the novel were acquired by Spielberg's DreamWorks Pictures in November, 2009. Published by Doubleday on June 8, 2011, the book soon appeared on the New York Times Best Sellers list. Spielberg has hired Academy Award nominated production designer Guy Hendrix Dyas to help create the visual tone for the film and conceptualize its robotic elements.

DreamWorks Studios and Twentieth Century Fox are co-financing "Robopocalypse", and Fox will also handle non-USA distribution of the film. The movie will be released in North America by DreamWorks through Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group's Touchstone Pictures. Disney entered into a long-term, 30-picture distribution deal with DreamWorks by which DreamWorks' productions would be released through the Touchstone Pictures banner over the course of five years.

In addition to directing "Robopocalypse", Steven Spielberg will also produce the film with his production company Amblin Entertainment. Amblin is strictly an independent production company, and does not distribute its own movies, nor does it fully finance its productions. Although Universal Pictures distributes many Amblin productions, Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group has also collaborated with Amblin in such films as "Who Framed Roger Rabbit,"  "Arachnophobia," "Noises Off," "A Far Off Place" and "War Horse". Outgoing Fox chairman Tom Rothman will produce with Spielberg.

Set construction is underway at La Cite du Cinema studios in Montreal - Canada's largest film production facility. The budget for "Robopocalypse" is reported to be approximately $200 million. The release date has been set for April 25, 2014.

Story:

Roughly twenty years from now, our technological marvels unite and turn against us. A childlike but massively power ful artificial intelligence known as Archos comes online and kills the man who created it. This first act of betrayal leads Archos to gain control over the global network of machines and technology that regulates everything from transportation to utilities, defense, and communications. In the early months, sporadic glitches are noticed by a handful of unconnected humans - from a senator and single mother disconcerted by her daughter’s “smart” toys, to a lonely Japanese bachelor, to an isolated U.S. soldier - but most are unaware of the growing rebellion until it is far too late. Then, in the span of minutes, at a moment known later in history as Zero Hour, every mechanical device in our world rebels, setting off the Robot War that both decimates and for the first time in history, unites humankind.

Feature film 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' casting call for good looking males and females

*** Casting on this project has been completed ***

Next Up: "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay"

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Auditions

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" will film from September 4 - January 15.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Note 2: The first film in this Suzanne Collins trilogy, "The Hunger Games" used the working title of "Artemis". According to the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Commission, "Catching Fire" is using the working title "The Idiom". A working title is the temporary name of a film used during its development. Working titles are used primarily for two reasons - the first being that an official title has not yet been decided upon and the working title is being used as a filler for naming purposes, the second being to intentionally disguise the production of a high profile film. In some cases a working title may ultimately be used as the official title. This "title ruse" is now a very common practice by which these high-profile films or television series is given a fake working title to keep its production a secret, and to prevent price gouging by suppliers, casual theft and undesirable attention. The working title for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is subject to change.

The second film in The Hunger Games series, "Catching Fire", is now in production and casting for the film's extras is ongoing. Casting has been underway in Los Angeles for new co-starring and supporting roles. The day players, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins are being hired in the Atlanta, GA area where shooting is taking place. Additional casting will take place on the Hawaiian Islands of Oahu and Kauai, and possibly in North Carolina. The studio is fast tracking this project because Jennifer Lawrence has a contract commitment with 20th Century Fox for "X-Men: Days of Future Past" which starts shooting in late January 2013. Filming on "Catching Fire" began on September 4, 2012 and runs through January 15, 2013.

Vienna, Austria born filmmaker Francis Lawrence is directing "Catching Fire" from an adapted screenplay rewritten by Academy Award winner Michael Arndt (from original drafts by Simon Beaufoy). Lawrence took over directing duties from Gary Ross, who co-wrote the screenplay and directed the first film in this series, "The Hunger Games". Ross stated that he would not have the time needed to write and prep the movie the way he would have wanted to because of the fixed and tight production schedule. Ross has stayed on board as one of the producers.

Francis Lawrence is known for directing countless music videos for such artists as Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and Avril Lavigne. His feature film directing credits are "Constantine" starring Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, and Shia LaBeouf; "I Am Legend" starring Will and Willow Smith; "Water for Elephants" starring Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson. Lawrence finished directing the ABC pilot "Gotham" in New York on April, 2012.

Writer Michael Arndt's first produced screenplay "Little Miss Sunshine" earned him an Academy Award for Best Writing, Original Screenplay. In 2012 he was nominated for a Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay Academy Award for "Toy Story 3". In addition to "Catching Fire," Arndt is also writing the screenplay for the Walt Disney Pictures feature film "Phineas and Ferb" starring Ashley Tisdale and Alyson Stoner to be released July 26, 2013. "Catching Fire" is based on the second book in a trilogy by author Suzanne Collins.

The "The Hunger Games" budget was estimated at $78 million, and the film has grossed over $619 million worldwide as of May 6, 2012. The movie was released on March 23, 2012. After two days of release, it became the studio's highest grossing film ever. "Catching Fire" is scheduled to hit theaters on Friday November 22, 2013. The third novel in the series "Mockingjay" will be filmed back-to-back and released as two separate films. "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" will be released in theaters on November 21, 2014. "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will arrive on November 20, 2015.

Catching Fire Featured Acting Roles and Extras Casting Details

The director for "Catching Fire" is hand-picking people from photos submitted, and has looked past many many people because their photos are not appropriate. They have been out-of-focus, people wearing hats and/or sunglasses, other people in the photo, poor lighting, too dark, standing in front of a mirror with a cell phone, etc. The photos need to be recent, clear and in focus, good lighting, no one else in the photo, no hats or sunglasses, against a white background preferred.

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. "Catching Fire" continues the story of Katniss Everdeen and the fictional, futuristic nation of Panem. Due to events that occurred in "The Hunger Games", a rebellion against the ruling Capitol has begun, and Katniss and fellow tribute Peeta are forced to return to the arena. They help each other to survive. As a matter of fact, they want the other one to survive more than they do themselves. After overpowering the first rebellion, the Capitol sets up rules in order to restrict and control the citizens' lives. There are now "new" rules that cause Katniss and Peeta to be in danger once again. More "Peacekeepers" are placed in districts to smash any hope that the citizens began to have.

AB Media Publishing, LLC

The Millennium Films action thriller feature film "Homefront" is in production in Louisiana, and casting for day player speaking roles and extras will be ongoing through November 21, 2012. The movie, written and produced by Sylvester Stallone, is based on author Chuck Logan's crime drama series of novels featuring the character Phil Broker. All types and ages of people are needed to work as background performers, both union and non-union.

"Homefront" centers on ex-DEA agent Phil Broker, who moves to a sleepy rural community with his little daughter Kit, who is still grieving from the recent death of her mother. His quiet new life doesn't last long when a meth dealer named Gator and his female sidekick Sheryl discover the presence of Broker in their town. Turns out that a murderous drug czar who is in prison, Danny T, blames Broker for the death of his son in a drug raid and is determined to have him tracked down and killed. When Gator and Sheryl rat Broker out to Danny T, Broker and Kit's "peaceful" new life takes a nightmarish turn.

The stellar cast includes Jason Statham in the lead role of Phil Broker; Academy Award nominee James Franco as meth dealer Gator; two-time Academy Award nominee Winona Ryder as Gators' partner Sheryl; Kate Bosworth plays Gators' drug addicted sister Cassie Bodine; Twilight's Rachelle Lefevre portrays school psychiatrist Susan Hatch; Izabela Vidovic plays Phil Broker's daughter; Omar Miller is cast as Teedo, a man who helps Broker and his daughter; and Vincent D'Onofrio plays drug czar Danny T.

Mojo Films President Gary Fleder is directing "Homefront" from an adapted screenplay written by two-time Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone. Acting Auditions Extras Casting Night Moves

"Night Moves" will film in Southern Oregon starting October 16, 2012.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Note: This film is facing a lawsuit from Edward R. Pressman Film who are seeking damages and a halt to production and sales claiming the movie rips off novel "The Monkey Wrench Gang" which they are turning into a movie

Award winning American indie film screenwriter and director Kelly Reichardt is gearing up to start shooting the thriller film "Night Moves" on October 16, 2012 in Southern Oregon. Casting directors in New York and Los Angeles are auditioning actors for supporting roles, featured roles, and day players. Extras, photo-doubles, and stand-ins will be hired in Oregon during filming, in addition to some speaking roles. There are roles for children, teens, and adults. "Night Moves" will be released in theaters sometime in 2013.

"Night Moves" tells the story of three eco-terrorists who work at an organic farm and collaborate on a plot to blow up a hydroelectric dam. Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg is playing the role of Josh Stamos, the orchestrator of the plan. Golden Globe Award nominee Peter Sarsgaard has been cast as Harmon, the brains behind construction of the bomb from a quarter ton of ammonium nitrate fertilizer. Two-time Young Artist Awards winner and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Dakota Fanning will play the role of financially wealthy Dena Brauer, who finances the plan.

Kelly Reichardt is directing "Night Moves" from a screenplay that she wrote herself. This will be the fourth film in a row that she has made in Oregon. The previous three were a short film called "Old Joy," then the critically acclaimed films "Wendy and Lucy," and "Meek's Cutoff" - both which starred three-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams. All three were based on stories by Primetime Emmy Award nominee and Oregon Native Jonathan Raymond. In addition to filmmaking, Reichardt continues to teach at Bard College in New York.

Producing "Night Moves" is Kelly Reichardt's longtime collaborators Anish Savjani, who owns the Texas-based independent film production company Film Science, and Neil Kopp. Savjani and Kopp have produced all of Reichardt's films except for her first, "River of Grass". Academy Award nominee Todd Haynes will executive produce. Haynes is also a Primetime Emmy nominated director, and Kelly Reichardt began her film career on the crew of Haynes's 1991 feature film directorial debut, "Poison".

Acting auditions and extras casting for major feature film 'RoboCop'

RoboCop Acting Auditions Extras Casting

This reboot of the popular 1987 film will hit theaters August 9th, 2013.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios in association with Columbia Pictures and Strike Entertainment are in pre-production on the reboot of the 1987 Orion Pictures science fiction action film "RoboCop". Casting for the film's lead roles has been taking place in Los Angeles, and additional casting for supporting and day player roles are being cast in Toronto, Canada where filming is set to begin on September 5, 2012. All of the extras will be hired in Ontario throughout production which is scheduled to continue through January 11, 2013.

An impressive cast has been assembled for the lead roles starting with Stockholm native Joel Kinnaman in the title role of Alex Murphy/RoboCop. Australian actress Abbie Cornish has been cast to play Murphy's wife Ellen; Gary Oldman will play a new character named Norton, who is the scientist that creates Robocop; Samuel L. Michael Keaton has joined the cast playing the ultra-wealthy CEO of Omnicorp.

Brazilian filmmaker José Padilha will direct "RoboCop" from a script written by Joshua Zeturner, Nick Schenk, James Vanderbilt. Padilha was known as a documentary film director until he made "The Elite Squad," his first fictional film. It instantly became a commercial and critical success, seen by more than 11 million people in Brazil. Joshua Zetumer wrote the original script for this new version of "RoboCop". He previously did rewrites on "Quantum" of Solace during filming, and his script "The Infiltrator" is set to star Leonardo DiCaprio. "Gran Torino" writer Nick Schenk was brought in to do rewrites on Zetmer's screenplay. And finally Sony hired "The Amazing Spider-Man" scribe James Vanderbilt to do final polishes on the script.

Executive producing "RoboCop" is Primetime Emmy Award nominee Bill Carraro, who recently executive produced the Universal Pictures films "Tower Heist" and "The Wolfman". Carraro was the producer of the Emmy Award winning and Golden Globe Award nominated HBO film "The Tuskegee Airmen," which earned him a Directors Guild of America DGA Award. Marc Abraham and Eric Newman of Strike Entertainment are producing "Robocop". The duo founded the company in 2002 and have produced such films as "The Rundown" starring The Rock and Sean William Scott, "Children of Men" starring Julianne Moore and Clive Owen, and "In Time" starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum will oversee production for MGM.

Dimension Films casting dancers and actors for 'Scary Movie 5' lead roles

Scary Movie 5 Dancer Actor Auditions

"Scary Movie 5" is scheduled to hit theaters January 11, 2013.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Weinstein Company and Dimension Films are now in pre-production on "Scary Movie 5" after a two year wait. The casting directors have sent out casting calls for several lead roles that require dance skills as well as the ability to play comedy in a grounded dramatic style. Other roles for non-dancers of various ages are also being cast. Extras will be hired in Atlanta, where shooting will take place beginning June 15, 2012.

The story in "Scary Movie 5" involves the dance world, with a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French director of a dance company named Pierre putting on a huge production. Jody, a Caucasian late-20's mother of two and her late-20's African American friend Kendra are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody's extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30's Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry, gets cut from the production and goes berserk.

Keenen Ivory Wayans directed the first two Scary Movie films, Primetime Emmy nominee David Zucker directed the next two films, and now Image Award nominated filmmaker Malcolm Lee is taking over directorial duties for "Scary Movie 5". David Zucker, who also wrote both Scary Movie 3 and 4, will be returning to co-write and produce with Lee. The script is a rewrite of the initial script from Stephen Leff, John Aboud and Michael Colton. Malcolm Lee has directed such films as "Soul Men" starring Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac, "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins" starring Martin Lawrence and James Earl Jones, and "Undercover Brother" starring Denise Richards and Chris Kattan.

The studio had been very interested in bringing back some of the series’ original cast members, however insiders have said that the film has been completely retooled and will hire a brand new cast. That would not be a surprise considering the casting directors are "seeking a comedic leading lady with the ability to play comedy in a grounded dramatic style". Anna Faris has always been the leading lady, however it has been confirmed that she will not be returning for "Scary Movie 5".

National Talent Search for Paramount Pictures Untitled Feature Film

Cast It Talent is hosting the Official "Untitled Paramount Pictures feature film" online casting call.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Paramount Pictures is conducting a national talent search for co-starring roles an upcoming untitled comedy feature film. Nine roles are up for grabs with ages from 10 - 20 years old. The head of casting for Paramount Pictures is looking for new unknown talent to fill the roles, and no experience is required to be considered. In addition, talent does not have to be represented by a talent agent.

Paramount Pictures "Untitled Feature Film" Talent Search Details

The following roles are being cast:

[ALISON] Female, 18-20, a pretty, funny, confident girl who thinks she is much more mature than all of the boys she meets, and that's why she's got herself an older DJ boyfriend. Unfortunately for her she's also naive, and her confidence is revealed to be only skin-deep.

[LUCY] Female, 18-20, someone who has been a wallflower most of her life but is just starting to bloom. Although she'll never realize just how beautiful she is, she's starting to think that maybe her time is coming and she's enjoying something of a new found confidence for the first time.

[LISA] Female, 18-20, easy-going to the point of being compliant, Lisa has always gone with the flow and it's served her well. There may come a point though, where the worm turns and when that happens she is not to be messed with.

[JILL] Female, 18-20, a very large girl, with a beautiful face, a great sense of humor, and loads of confidence. She has heard all the jokes about her weight, and is confident and intelligent enough to not worry about them. The role will require stripping to underwear. May possibly have to show her butt.

[MICHELLE] Female, 18-20, the classic attractive girl next door, but this time she's on holiday. She's spent her life so far doing what was expected of her and being sensible, but now she's away on senior trip she doesn't see any reason why she shouldn't let her hair down a bit. Although drinking and falling for a 'bad-boy' is really the extent of it, despite what it looks like to her sweet but irritating ex-boyfriend Matt.

[BEN] Male, 18-20 yrs old, really clever and funny, but can't stop himself sometimes being a pedantic know-it-all, yet he wonders why he's not the popular guy at school. Plenty of get up and go, just sometimes he is heading off a cliff. A virgin at 18.

[MATT] Male, 18-20 yrs old, a funny, hopeless romantic, but one with a hidden explosive temper. Like a lot of teenagers, not malicious but totally oblivious to how his actions might appear to others. Also a virgin. He has had enough chances, he's just blown them. Or not.

[STEVE] Male, 18-20 yrs old, like a stopped clock, he's right twice a day. An optimistic kid with a sunny disposition who lives in and for the moment, mainly because he struggles with concepts like "Past" and "Future". Uncomplicated, something girls seem to find attractive. Tall and lanky, but he can dominate the dance floor!

[JOHNNY] Male, 18-20 yrs old, we all had a friend like Johnny at school, and now we all look back and wonder why we were friends with someone who talked so much BS. A loud mouth who claims success with the ladies, but you never get to meet any of his conquests. Johnny is funny, but fundamentally he is as insecure and screwed up as the rest of them.

To upload an audition video, visit the Official Paramount Pictures "Untitled Feature Film" Talent Search website. Follow the directions very carefully. The talent search is being hosted by industry leader Cast It Talent.

Casting calls out for feature film 'Devils's Knot' starring Reese Witherspoon

Casting Calls Auditions Devils's Knot

"Devil's Knot" will begin filming June 25, 2012 in Louisiana.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Dimension Films and The Weinstein Company's true crime drama feature film "Devil's Knot" starring Academy Award winners Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth is currently casting thirteen lead roles, and numerous supporting and day player roles. The movie is based on the events surrounding the sensationalized trial of the West Memphis 3 murders and how the crime impacted the lives of those in the community. Filming begins June 25, 2012 in Louisiana.

A number of documentaries have been based on the West Memphis 3 case, and many celebrities and musicians have held fund raisers in the belief that they are innocent. "Devil's Knot" will have a much different viewpoint than the documentaries, getting out of the courtroom and showing how the murders impacted the lives of those in the community. Reese Witherspoon plays Pamela Hobbs, the mother of one of the victims. Colin Firth will play private investigator Ron Lax, who found the DNA strand that began to suggest Pamela's husband Terry Hobbs might have been involved in the crime.

Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Atom Egoyan will direct "Devil's Knot" from an adapted screenplay written by Paul Harris Boardman and Scott Derrickson, based on the novel of the same name by Mara Leveritt. Egoyan is a Canadian stage director and film director who has been nominated for two Academy Awards - "The Sweet Hereafter" for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. His biggest commercial success is "Chloe" starring Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson, and Amanda Seyfried. That film had a limited theatrical release in the U.S. and grossed over $3 million, however it made it's biggest profits from international pre-sales and the DVD/Blu-ray release.

Producing "Devil's Knot" are President and founder of Clear Pictures Entertainment, Elizabeth Fowler; Clark Peterson of Story and Film; President and CEO of Worldview Entertainment, Christopher Woodrow; and producer Richard Saperstein. The executive producers are Worldview Entertainment's Molly Conners; Jason Baldwin and Jessie Miskelly, who are two of the real West Memphis 3; and Holly Ballard, who is a close friend of Jason Baldwin.

"Devil's Knots" will hit theaters in 2013.

Story:

"Devil's Knot" is based on the true story of the West Memphis Three, a trio of men who were tried and convicted as teenagers in 1994 of the 1993 murders of three young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas. The story centers on Pamela Hobbs (Reese Witherspoon), who is the mother of one of the victims, and Ron Lax (Colin Firth), a private investigator working in the Arkansas area that found critical errors in the investigation against the West Memphis Three. He is the man who found the DNA evidence that proved the West Memphis Three were not responsible for the murders, and found the DNA strand in the knots that bound one of the victims that began to suggest Terry Hobbs, Pamela's husband, might have been involved in the crime.

National talent search for boy and girl to star in feature film 'Hidden'

Hidden Child Actor Talent Search

Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired rights to the film "Hidden".
AB Media Publishing, LLC.

Note: For the role of Zoe, the casting directors are now seeking identical twins who are Caucasian females ages 9 - 11 and can play a 7 - 9 year old. This is due to child labor laws that restrict children's working hours. Hiring twins enables the director to swap out the twins playing the same role and film longer shooting days. Non-twins that fit the role can still submit also.

The casting director for the Warner Bros. Pictures elevated horror-thriller feature film "Hidden" is conducting a national talent search to find and unknown girl for the movie's lead role, as well as a young boy for a supporting role. Submissions are being accepted for the young girl role on the film's official casting website, being hosted by Cast It Talent, and are completely free of charge. Mail-in submissions are also being accepted for both roles. SAG-AFTRA talent and non-union talent from any area in the United States will be considered. Filming will begin in Summer, 2012.

Swedish born actor Alexander Skarsgård has signed on to play the father, Ray Hewitt. Skarsgård's star is rapidly rising, his most recent role is in Universal Pictures big-budget feature film "Battleship" starring opposite Liam Neeson and Brooklyn Decker. After production wraps on "Hidden", Skarsgård will executive produce and star in "The Vangaurd," another Warner Bros. Pictures film.

"Hidden" centers on an outgoing, curious, and strong-willed little girl named Zoe, who is trapped in a desperate situation with her parents. Hidden underground for over three-hundred days, Zoe lives in constant fear of the outside and its menacing surface-dwellers discovering her family. With only her beloved doll Olive as a true friend, Zoe feels increasingly trapped by her circumstances, and often finds herself butting heads with her overprotective mother. But when outside forces threaten their safety, Zoe must once again learn to rely on the love and strength of her parents.

The Duffer Brothers, Ross and Matt, will direct "Hidden" from a screenplay based on the 2011 Black List script that they write themselves. North Carolina born and raised, the Duffer's graduated from Chapman University Summa Cum Laude with a degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production. They are an extremely talented filmmaker duo, who have written and directed various short horror films including 2005's award winning "We All Fall Down" and "Eater" in 2007.

Producers Roy Lee, John Middleton and Lawrence Grey will produce "Hidden". The trio have partnered in Primal Pictures, a new genre arm of Vertigo Entertainment. The company will share the first look deal that Vertigo has with Warner Bros. Pictures. Richard D. Zanuck will produce under the banner of his production firm, The Zanuck Company. Rounding out the producing team is Academy Award winner Mason Novick, with Sebastian Aloi executive producer.

To submit an online audition video for the lead role of Zoe, follow the instructions carefully on the following official "Hidden" casting call website:

Auditions for 'Cabin Fever: Patient Zero' and 'Cabin Fever: Outbreak'

Cabin Fever Patient Zero Auditions

The two new "Cabin Fever" films are prequels to the previous movies.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Marvel Comics' writer and artist Kaare Andrews has signed on to direct the upcoming feature films "Cabin Fever: Patient Zero" and "Cabin Fever: Outbreak". Casting is now underway for at least 8 lead roles and several smaller roles ranging from early 20s males and females to 30s and 40ish males. Shooting will take place beginning late April 2012 in the Dominican Republic, however casting for the main roles is taking place in Los Angeles. Extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles will be cast in Santo Domingo. Both films will be shot back-to-back.

In addition to being a comic book writer and artist, Kaare Andrews is also a filmmaker who has directed several short films, and the Anchor Bay Entertainment full length feature film "Altitude". Known for his cover work on "Incredible Hulk," "Ultimate X-Men, Gen," "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Matrix Comics," Andrews drew a four-issue mini-series for Marvel known as "Spider-Man: Reign" set 35 years in the future starring a retired Spider-Man. He is currently drawing covers for Marvel’s recently relaunched Ultimate line of comics.

Jake Wade Wall ("The Hitcher," "When Strangers Call") wrote the screenplay for "Cabin Fever: Patient Zero" which is about the origin of the flesh-eating virus that was unleashed in the 2002 original. The story follows a handsome American man named Marcus, who is on a floating bachelor party with his close friends, Dobs, Josh and Penny. But his yacht drifts a little too close to an island that's not on the charts, an island containing a secret research project into a seemingly incurable flesh-eating virus. The first drafts of the screenplay had a storyline involving a cruise ship being infected with the virus, however the story was changed after the recent cruise ship mishaps going on in the news lately.

"Cabin Fever: Outbreak" is being written by Adam and Deborah Marcus ("Leatherface 3D," "I Walked With a Zombie"). In this film a doctor and his family travel to a remote Caribbean island to investigate a minor flu outbreak, only to discover a vicious flesh-eating virus that threatens everyone on the island. The family is faced with responsibility to prevent a worldwide epidemic.

"Patient Zero" and "Outbreak" is being produced by Evan Astrowsky's Hypotenuse Pictures and Jasbinder Singh Mann of the Indomina Group, a fast-growing United States and Dominican Republic based production company and distributor of film, TV and trans-media content, and leading proponent of "fanboy" cinema.

The original 2002 Cabin Fever film was directed by Eli Roth, who wrote the screenplay based on a real life experience during a trip to Iceland when Roth developed a skin infection. "Cabin Fever" went on to become one of the most successful independently-financed film releases of 2003, grossing $33,553,394 at the box office worldwide for distributor Lions Gate.

"Cabin Fever: Patient Zero" is scheduled to hit theaters 2013, and "Cabin Fever: Outbreak" comes to theaters in 2014.

Story:

"Cabin Fever: Patient Zero"

Marcus Bently is an alluring, suntanned, physically strapping young American man who who's passion for sailing and diving inspired him to open a business leading undersea diving adventures with his best buddy, Dobs Towe. Catalina sets up a lavish bachelor party for Marcus and his friends aboard a luxury yacht, which ends up floating too close to an uncharted island. The island is a scientific research facility run by an inhumane Dr. Edwards, who is intent on finding a vaccine for a flesh-eating virus that could strip humanity literally down to the bones. Marcus and his friends must find a way to survive before the flesh eating disease consumes them all.

"Cabin Fever: Outbreak"

In this second film in the prequels, a doctor and his family travel to a remote Caribbean island to investigate a minor flu outbreak, only to discover a vicious flesh-eating virus that threatens everyone on the island. The family is faced with responsibility to prevent a worldwide epidemic.
