Principal actor auditions and open casting calls for 'Men in Black III' extras

The Columbia Pictures feature film "Men In Black III" is now back in production after a lengthy delay in shooting due to problems with the script. Columbia Pictures has announced an open casting call in New York City for people interested in working on the film as extras, stand-ins, and photo doubles. There are also several new principal actor roles being cast.

Etan Cohen wrote the original draft of the script, David Koepp did some major rewrites, and Jeff Nathanson wrote the finishing touches. But Sony and director Barry Sonnenfeld did not like parts of the script, specifically the time-travel scenes, so David Koepp was brought back in once again to do several weeks of additional rewrites. Koepp has now delivered a script that he wrote in close participation with director Barry Sonnenfeld.

The delays in filming have taken a heavy toll on the production including the loss of Academy Award nominated actor Alec Baldwin, who was set to play the boss of the 1969 MiB in the time traveling portions of the film. The "Men in Black 3D" budget has also soared past the 2 hundred million dollar mark.

Principal photography has resumed this week on March 28, 2011 and will continue through the end of June, 2011. The film is still scheduled to be released in theaters on May 25, 2012.
