I Frankenstein Auditions Casting Calls

"I, Frankenstein" will hit theaters February 22, 2013.

The Australian production company Hopscotch Features and Lakeshore Entertainment are set to commence principal photography on the gothic thriller feature film "I, Frankenstein" in the Melbourne, Australia area. Auditions for supporting roles and day players is underway in Los Angeles, New York, and Melbourne. All of the film's extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins will be cast in Victoria, Australia.

"I, Frankenstein" is based on the graphic novel created by Kevin Grevioux. The story follows the original monster of Victor Frankenstein who is the only force that stands between the human race and an uprising of supernatural creatures determined to overthrow the world. Grevioux was also co-creator of the "Underworld" film franchise in which he played the role of "Raze".

Australian filmmaker Stuart Beattie is directing "I, Frankenstein". He also penned the screenplay that was originally written by Kevin Grevioux. Beattie made his directorial debut with the film "Tomorrow, When the War Began", which broke box office records in Australia. His writing credits include "Collateral," "Derailed," "30 Days of Night," "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," and all of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films.

Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg and Richard Wright are producing "I, Frankenstein" for Lakeshore Entertainment. Andrew Mason and Troy Lum are producing for Hopscotch Films, and Kevin Grevioux will executive produce. Lionsgate will distribute in the U.S. and E1/Hopscotch will distribute in Australia.

The "I, Frankenstein" production will employ around 500 local cast and crew members in Victoria. Child Talent and Foreign Talent must be legally eligible to work in Australia. Story:

A story that brings together classic monster characters, including Frankenstein's Monster, the Invisible Man, Dracula and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, in a contemporary film noir setting. The Monster, for example, has evolved, learned how to control his anger and now acts as a private investigator. Dracula, meanwhile, is a kingpin of crime, and the Invisible Man is a secret operative.
