Summit Entertainment Step Up 4 Actor Dancer Casting Call

"Step Up 4" is casting lead role actors, dancers, and dance teams.
AB Media Publishing, LLC

Summit Entertainment is currently working on the 4th installment of the hugely successful dance franchise that started with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s "Step Up" in 2006. Music video director Scott Speer, who previously directed episodes of the web series "The LXD: The League of Extraordinary Dancers, has been hired to direct the film. Jenny Mayer has wrote the screenplay, and like "Step Up 3D," "Step Up 4," will also be shot in 3D.

Jon M. Chu, who directed both "Step Up 2" and "Step Up 3D" and is currently directing the sequel to Chan’s movie "G.I. Joe" will serve as executive producer on "Step Up 4," with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot producing. Harry Shum Jr. has been mentioned as the film's Choreographer.

"Step Up 4" is scheduled to hit theaters in 2012, and the filmmakers are currently looking for dancers and two new faces to play the male and female lead roles in the new film.

Here is what the casting directors are seeking:

[SEAN] Male, 21, handsome. From the streets of urban Miami. Raised by his big sister whom he respects. Raised poor - Class war mentality. Smart beyond his years, amazing dancer, choreographer, creative genius and co-founder of the MOB, an underground next-level flash mob organization. No formal dance training. Has big dreams, but doesn’t believe he can make a difference. He’ll have his beliefs challenged when he falls for his wealthy boss’s daughter. Full of spontaneous energy. Charming, confident but not cocky. Edgy and a bit dangerous. A natural leader. MUST BE AN EXCEPTIONAL DANCER. PROTOTYPE: Channing Tatum

[EMILY] female 21, beautiful. Privileged. Her mom died five years ago, it’s a tough reality with uber-successful, ‘father knows best’ dad, Mr. Anderson. Formally trained classical, lyrical dancer. Quarter life crisis - Just graduated NYU, but Emily still holds onto her dream of being a professional dancer. In Miami for the summer and at a crossroads in her life. Strong, smart, and sassy. Always has her guard up against guys, she assumes everyone wants to date her for her money. She meets Sean, who introduces her to his flashmob: a free form, no rules creative outlet, coupled with rebellion and risk.

DANCERS: The filmmakers are looking for all types of urban dancers. Solo dancers and dance teams will be considered. Submit your dance video to be considered.

The deadline for talent submissions is July 11, 2011.

Filming on "Step Up 4" will take place in Miami, Florida. Shooting begins August 23, 2011 and will continue through November 7, 2011.

To submit an audition video for consideration, go to the following official ActorCast online casting website for the film:

StepUpCasting.com

ALL ActorCast submissions will be reviewed by the film's casting directors.

StepUpCasting.com is the ONLY website that you can upload your audition video for this project, so beware of any other website's claims of casting roles for this film.

Important information about uploading audition videos:

A large number of casting directors and studios are now using Cast It Systems' ActorCast to allow people to upload audition videos for specific projects and roles.

When uploading audition videos, make absolutely sure to follow the directions exactly as stated. If they want it done a specific way, then do not disregard the instructions and do whatever you want. Not following the instructions is a sure way to NOT get a call back. If you can't follow simple directions on how to tape and submit an audition video, then the casting director will assume that you may not be able to take direction well on set during filming. And that is not a good thing. So be very careful and follow the directions exactly as they are explained. Remember that not following directions can cost you the part!
