Auditions for Oren Moverman's feature film 'Rampart'

Lightstream Pictures and Story and Film, Inc. are in pre-production on the feature film "Rampart" starring Woody Harrelson, Ice Cube, and Ben Foster. Robert Redford and Gwyneth Paltrow are also in negotiations to appear in the film. Auditions for supporting roles, featured roles, and day players is taking place in Los Angeles. The extras will be hired as filming approaches.

Academy Award nominated Oren Moverman will direct the film, and the self proclaimed "greatest crime novelist who ever lived", James Ellroy, wrote the story. Moverman is penning the screenplay.

Shooting starts October 25, 2010 in Los Angeles.

Story:

Centers on the widespread corruption in the Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums (or CRASH) anti-gang unit of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Rampart Division in the late 1990s. Maverick LAPD cop Dave Brown (Harrelson), a Vietnam vet and a 30 year veteran of the Rampart division, uses his police powers like a Wild West gunslinger. But when the Rampart scandal erupts, he soon realizes that there's a new sheriff in town. When a videotaped beating puts him at the center of a media firestorm, he suspects that he has been targeted as a scapegoat. He must finally confront a lifetime of compromise, a deadly legacy with far-reaching implications for himself, his family, and his future.
